Problems with Insurance

Who Said Therapy Is Always Done in Six Sessions? What about people who need more?

Here again is the loss of the individuality of the therapist. Shouldn't there be some modicum of respect for the therapist's skill level? Shouldn't a skillful therapist have a sense of where the course of conversation, insight, and change is leading-and how long it will take? Talk about disrespect. For that matter, maybe the client believes he or she needs to continue beyond the preset number of sessions. How did the client's initiative get taken away? That is his or her therapy we are talking about, after all. The less the client participates in the therapy process, the less motivated he or she can be to work on issues.
