Shalom Bayit
Shalom means peace, but it means even more. The root word is shaleim which means "complete." When a person's heart, soul, mind, and body work together in harmony toward one purpose, that person is complete -- and he or she experiences a sense of inner peace.
Bayit means "house" but it means even more than that. The body is the "bayit" that houses the soul. Thus, the concept Shalom Bayit is a double recognition of the necessity for "completeness" in order to experience true peace: first, because "shalom," peace, comes from "shaleim," complete, and second, because "bayit" is the inextricable connection between the soul and the body.
How can this true peace be accomplished?
- You have powerful inner resources that we can tap together.
- You are the expert in your own life and I am neither your leader nor your follower. I offer you my perceptions based on 30 years experience in the psychotherapy field combined with a Torah perspective that balances spiritual nourishment with halacha. However you utilize what I offer, I will take joy in seeing you grow and be happy.
- You will know that you are shaleim when your thoughts, feelings, actions, and spirit are in balance and enriched.
